  Transit Visa 
 

This visa is issued to foreigners who need to enter the Philippines in transit to other countries. It must be obtained at any Philippine Embassy or Consulate before entering the country. The transit period is limited to 72 hours only.

 

Foreigners in transit who do not intend to leave the airport transit area and will continue their flight to their next destination do not need a transit visa.

 

Basic Requirements

1. Passport valid for at least six months

2. Confirmed valid ticket to the next destination country

3. Visa fee

 

Additional Requirements

These requirements may be required from the Philippine Embassy or Consulate where you are applying.

2. Copy of Evidence of Residency in the country of origin

3. Proof of sufficient funds for travel expenses, accommodation and subsistence

4. One or two recent photos with white or light-colored background

 

Note: Original copies and photocopies of the required documents should be submitted upon application. If the application is made by an agent or a representative, an applicant’s authorization letter should be included in the application.

 
   

  Tourist Visa 
 

A Philippines tourist visa is issued to foreigners (restricted and non-restricted) for the purpose of pleasure and/or medical treatment.

 

Foreigners who intend to stay in the Philippines longer than 21 days must obtain a fifty-nine day tourist visa at the Philippine Embassy or Consulate before travelling to the Philippines. However, if a foreigner enters the country on an entry stamp and intends to stay longer, he can apply for a 38-day visa waiver at the Bureau of Immigration in Intramuros (Manila) or at any Immigration sub-office in the country to obtain a total of 59 day stay in the country. Entry stamp for 21 days + 38 day waiver = 59 days

 

Note: A Philippines tourist visa holder is prohibited to obtain any form of employment, to engage in business or to study in any learning institution in the country.

 

Requirements:
1. Duly filled application form (BI Form No. MCL-07-01)
2. Passport valid for at least six months before the intended travel to the Philippines
3. One 2" x 2" photograph taken within the last six (6) months with the applicant’s signature on the front side of the picture
4. A photocopy of the applicant’s air ticket or confirmed itinerary
5. Proof of financial capacity (e.g. traveller’s cheques, latest print-out of credit card account(s), latest print-out of bank statements, ownership of real estate properties, and other documents showing the applicant’s capacity to financially support himself for his stay in the Philippines)


Note: If the application is made by an agent or a representative, the application form must be notarized by a notary public, a lawyer or a solicitor.

Note: The application fee/s for the temporary visitor’s visa (tourist visa) abroad vary from the Philippine Embassy or Consulate or the currency of the host country. Please contact the Embassy or Consulate for information.

 

A Philippines tourist visa can be extended beyond the initial 59 days. It may be extended in blocks of 60 days (beyond the initial 59 days) up until a maximum of 16 months. In very special circumstances and with approval from immigration in Manila, you may stay up to 24 months.

 

If you wish to continue to stay in the Philippines beyond the standard 16 months limit, you may either leave the country and come back on a new entry stamp or tourist visa or, convert your touist visa to another form of non-immigrant or immigrant visa.

  Visa Upon Arrival Program (VUAP) ( 
 

The Visa Upon Arrival Program (VUAP) is a liberalized visa policy that allows tourists and foreign investors who are classified as restricted nationals or nationals who require visa, to enter the Philippines.


This visa is also issued to foreign investors and businessmen who are endorsed by the Board of Investments, Philippine Retirement Authority, Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry, local business councils and local/foreign chambers of commerce and industry to enter or stay in the country.

 

Requirements and Procedures
1. Submit the application or request to the foreign chamber of commerce (e.g. Indian Chamber of Commerce) or to any authorized sponsor organization who will directly submit the documents to the Bureau of Immigration.
2. A confirmation letter from the Bureau of Immigration will be issued to the applicant with a single or three year multiple entries, depending on the nature of application.

 

Fee
The application fee of 5,510 Pesos (only paid once) allows the applicant to stay in the country for 30 days and is extendable for six months.

  Visa Entry Stamp 
 

The visa-free entry stamp or entry stamp is only issued to non-restricted nationals from the countries in the drop down menu below, who are allowed to enter the Philippines without a visa for 21 days or less.

Nationals from the countries listed below are allowed to enter the Philippines without a visa for 59 days:
1. Holders of Brazil Passports; and
2. Holders of Israel Passports


Nationals from the countries listed below are allowed to enter the Philippines without a visa for 7 days.
1. Holders of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR)
2. Holders of British National Overseas (BNO) Passports
3. Holders of Portuguese Passports issued in Macao
4. Holders of Macau Special Administrative Region (SAR) Passports

 

Requirements
1. Valid return ticket or ticket to next destination country
2. Valid passport for at least six months upon arrival

 

Foreigners who are classified as restricted nationals should secure visas at any Philippine Embassy or Consulate Office before the intended travel. The same manner will apply to non-restricted nationals, who intend to stay longer than the allowed periods which are stated above.

 

Note: The entry stamp is given upon arrival at the international airport or at any port of entries for business and tourism purposes for the period provided hereof. Admission will be dependent on the discretion of the Immigration Officer at the port of entry. Nationals (restricted or non-restricted) who are enlisted in the deportation and blacklist orders of the Bureau of Immigration will not be allowed entry into the country.
